Bromsgrove youngsters get hooked on fishing
YOUNGSTERS from a Bromsgrove school were hooked during a recent fishing session.
The children from Chadsgrove Specialist Sports College, in Meadow Road, arranged an angling participation day for 12 disabled anglers held at Cob House Fisheries, in Worcester, who provided their facilities free of charge.
Coaching sessions were given by qualified angling coaches to the youngsters, many of them having never fished before.
The day, held earlier this month, was arranged by the Environment Agency and the Angling Development Board.
Dougal Ziegler, from the Environment Agency, said: “With advice from the coaches, these newbie anglers were constantly netting carp, roach, bream and perch.
“The huge smiles on faces were testament to how much fun they were all having. It was wonderful to see.”
